Lovely overall experience. Wonderful old hotel with fantastic location on the outskirts of Birac. Location right by such an ancient castle, vineyards producing grapes for a delicious bio cognac and beautiful surroundings. Comfortable rooms, beautiful and well-maintained. Good sleep in a large bed.

The setting of this 18th-century presbytery turned castle overlooking the village of Birac is absolutely breathtaking. It's like staying in a fairytale castle! The rooms at this hotel are not just rooms, they are little sanctuaries of relaxation and comfort. I felt like I was transported to a luxurious oasis. The shared lounge and library at the hotel were a great place to unwind and meet other guests. It felt like a cozy corner of paradise. The staff at the hotel were incredibly friendly and accommodating. They went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was enjoyable and comfortable. The breakfast spread was a delightful treat every morning. From the homemade jams to the freshly baked bread, it was a feast fit for royalty.
The only minor issue I encountered during my stay was that the rooms could have been a bit cleaner.

The hosts were friendly and welcoming, with a wealth of family history. The building had character, filled with 200+ year-old furniture. The location was conveniently close to Chateauneuf-sur-Charente, with a wonderful river-side beach and sports facilities. The house itself was amazing, filled with antiques and beautifully decorated. The surroundings were picturesque, with vineyards and rolling countryside.

During my recent stay at a charming bed and breakfast in Birac, I was absolutely captivated by the old-world ambiance of the place. The historic building, filled with antiques and beautiful furnishings, transported me to a bygone era. I couldn't help but imagine the stories that must have unfolded within its walls.
The location, although remote, worked perfectly for my needs. It provided a serene and peaceful atmosphere that was ideal for a relaxing getaway.

Stayed in a 19th-century castle overlooking a village. Loved the old-world charm, surrounded by fields and vineyards. Enjoyed activities like dinosaur excavation and climbing nearby. Central heating was a plus in winter.
Who needs locks on doors or places to put things when you're staying in a castle? Breakfast had too much bread and jam.
